CMG MI Team Volunteers at the San Francisco Food Bank

The San Francisco Food Bank is a life-saver for many needy families in The City. It's the hub for nonprofit food collection and distribution in San Francisco, supplying the bulk of the food that many local agencies rely on to support those living in poverty.

After their initial volunteer stint in 2006, CMG MI's Home Office staff returned to the Food Bank in 2007 to help out. On December 11, 2007, a busload of CMG MI's finest traveled over to the Bank and spent the morning measuring, sorting and packing dry groceries for the Holiday Food Program, which distributes the food "farmer’s market-style" at the Bank's neighborhood pantries. Approximately 42,000 people – seniors, children, parents and individuals – enjoy holiday meals thanks to this program.

"This kind of volunteer work makes us remember what the holidays are all about," said Mark Berkowitz, CMG MI's Vice President of Operations and Underwriting. "The Food Bank's services are critical for many people throughout the year, and we're glad to have the opportunity to show our support."
