CMG MIers Help Send 204 Boxes of Cookies to Soldiers!

In December 2009, Account Executive Stephanie Roth launched the latest “Cookies for Soldiers” campaign, which is becoming an annual event for CMG MIers.

The goal is to send as many boxes of Girl Scout cookies as possible to American troops stationed overseas. Last year, Stephanie and her daughter, Girl Scout Jenna Roth, were proud to announce that more than 200 boxes of Samoas, Thin Mints and other popular favorites had been sent to soldiers in Iraq This year, Stephanie’s younger daughter, Becca, is also a Girl Scout and happy to join the effort.

Stephanie’s brother, a retired soldier, has many contacts in the military and has been able to suggest likely cookie recipients among the units posted to Iraq. However, Stephanie notes that if any of us have loved ones in Afghanistan and can provide an address, she would be happy to send cookies there as well.

CMG MIers were generous with their contributions, as were Stephanie’s friends and family. “We’re sending off 283 boxes at the end of February – and 204 of them were from CMG MIers!” Stephanie said. “I’d like to say a big thank-you to all the CMG MIers who participated again and showed their support for our troops. A Girl Scout cookie is a real taste of home and the response from the soldiers was incredible last year. They wrote letters and sent pictures to my daughter Jenna, thanking her for her efforts and thoughts. It was a great life experience for her, as I hope this year’s campaign will be for Becca.”

Girl Scouts Becca and Jenna Roth organized the 2010 Cookies for Soldiers drive.
